Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is designed for skilled workers with Canadian work experience who wish to become permanent residents.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Work Experience:

    • At least one year of skilled work experience in Canada in the last three years (NOC 0, A, B).
    • Full-time or an equivalent amount in part-time work.
  2. Language Proficiency:

    • Minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 for NOC 0 or A jobs.
    • Minimum CLB 5 for NOC B jobs.
  3. Education:

    • No specific education requirements, but having Canadian or foreign education can improve your CRS score.
  4. Intent to Reside:

    • Plan to live outside the province of Quebec.

Process Overview

  1. Determine Eligibility: Ensure you meet the criteria listed above.
  2. Create Express Entry Profile: Submit an online profile and enter the Express Entry pool.
  3. CRS Score: Receive a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score based on your profile.
  4. Receive ITA: Higher CRS scores increase chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency.
  5. Submit Application: If you receive an ITA, submit a complete application with required documents.
  6. Processing: IRCC processes applications, typically within six months.
  7. Receive COPR: If approved, receive Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) and move to Canada as a permanent resident.
