Financial Requirements
Financial Requirements for Super Visa
The financial requirements for the Super Visa involve demonstrating sufficient financial support and stability to cover the expenses of the visiting parent or grandparent during their stay in Canada. Here’s what applicants need to consider:
Minimum Income Threshold: The Canadian host (child or grandchild) must demonstrate they meet a minimum income threshold to support the visiting parent or grandparent. This threshold is typically based on the Low Income Cut-Off (LICO) plus 30%, adjusted for family size.
Financial Support Documentation: The host must provide a written and signed letter of invitation confirming their commitment to financially support the visitor. This includes providing details of their income, employment status, and any other sources of financial support.
Proof of Funds: Alongside the letter of invitation, the host may need to provide additional financial documentation, such as bank statements, tax assessments, and employment letters, to prove their ability to provide financial support.
Medical Insurance: Applicants must show proof of Canadian medical insurance coverage for at least one year, covering health care, hospitalization, and repatriation.
Other Requirements: Applicants must also meet standard Super Visa requirements, including passing medical examinations, security checks, and proving the purpose of their visit.
